Memory Verse – Deuteronomy 7:9 –  “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments”.
Midweek Message – 1.7.26 – “How to Overcome Discouragement” – Discouragement is not overcome by denying it, but by re-centering God in our lives. We need to put our hope in God. Pastor Grant Hill suggests three things to get out of being discouraged before we become depressed.
1. With God’s help – be patient
2. Worship – redirect our sight to God
3. Be obedient to the Word… Be obedient to the Word, by reading these scriptures:

Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred makes the heart sick”

Psalm 42:5 “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Ps. 30:5b weeping may last for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Phil. 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Lamentations 3:17-24 I have been deprived of peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is. So I say, “My splendor is gone and all that I had hoped from the Lord.” I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
Hebrews 12:3 “Consider Him who endured such opposition… so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Isaiah 40:31 “Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.”
Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.
Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For
everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened”.
James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you.”
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Louie Zakaraisen passed away on January 1. Daughters, Pam & Karen were with him. There will be a service at Huber Funeral Home on January 24. Visitation 1 – 3. Service at 3PM.
