AUGUST 27 – MIDWEEK SERVICE WEDNESDAY – “Th Faith of Abel” – (full Sermon Notes are posted below for you to follow along as you watch. Aug 27 Sermon
Luke 18:8 (Persistent widow) I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.
Genesis 4:2-5 Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought someof the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. 4And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
Hebrews 11:4 “By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.”
Luke 21:1-4 And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, 2 and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”
Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
