3 SOURCES OF DECEPTION
• Satan . . the great liar and deceiver John 8:44 – “He is a liar and the father of lies.”
• Our hearts can deceive us Jeremiah 17:9 – “The heart is deceitful above all things.”
• The world deceives with its empty promises. 2 Timothy 3:13 – “Evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser (criticizer, challenger, opponent) of our brothers and sisters,

HOW WE BECOME DECEIVED
• Not knowing and/or Trusting God’s Word and what God says. Genesis 3:1 – “Did God really say…?”
• Not able to identify our enemy. 2 Corinthians 11:14 – “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”
• False so called “Christian” teachers. Matthew 24:24 – “False Christs and false prophets will appear and deceive many.”
• Self-deception. James 1:22 – “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.”)
2 BIG LIES CHRISTIANS MUST NOT BELIEVE
1. God’s love for me is conditional.
2. My sin separates me from God’s love and/or affects how God loves me.
Romans 7:15-19 – I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. . . . . For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? THE REMEDY AGAINST DECEPTION
• Know the Word. Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
• Walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16 – “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
• Stay alert. 1 Peter 5:8 – “Be sober-minded; be watchful.”
• Test everything. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 – “Test everything; hold fast what is good.”
• Love the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 – “They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.”

October – Haiti Kids School
HKS is a Minnesota 501c3 organization non-profit supporting Lott Carey School since 2008. Their mission is to make a difference in the Haitian communities they serve by making education, nutrition, and health services available. The school is located in Leogane, Haiti. Lott Carey School serves over 360 students, 250 of them are awaiting sponsors.
BENEVOLENCE FUND – The benevolence fund is used to aid families with unexpected or high medical expenses, victims of natural disasters. The unemployed, the under employed and in other similar circumstances.
