Missions of the Month for 2024
Each month of the year, Minnewashta Church supports a different “Mission of the Month”. The First Sunday of each month, the 2nd Offering will go to the Minnewashta Benevolence Fund. For the other various missions we support, we have included a link to their website or Facebook page to find out more about them. They are as follows:

- February – Open Arms Home (South African Orphanage)
- March – Bountiful Basket Food Shelf
- April – Meals on Wheels
- May – Jeremy Goodell Scholarship Fund
- June – Faith Search International
- July – Tree House Youth Outreach of Minnetonka
- August – MN Adult & Teen Challenge
- September – Alliance Defending Freedom
- October – Haiti Kids School
- November – Voice of the Martyrs Ministry
- December – Salvation Army
The Special Christmas Eve offering for 2023 went to Union Gospel Mission. An additional offering is taken during Lent with proceeds going to a special mission as determined by the Leadership Team.

May Mission of the Month – Jeremy Goodell Scholarship
Jeremy was a such special young man to our Minnewashta Church congregation. Jeremy’s enthusiastic and genuine love of the Lord was evident in all he did, but especially in his relationships with our youth. He served as our Youth Pastor for just a short time before he was in a tragic automobile accident and was killed on his way to Vacation Bible School on the evening of August 13, 2001.
Jeremy truly loved his job and had hope of, one day, becoming the Senior Pastor at Minnewashta. He was such a bright light in the lives of so many – we won’t ever forget him. The scholarship program is meant to serve as a special, and enduring way to honor his memory.
Also, at Minnewashta Church we maintain a “benevolence fund” that is, a monetary reserve kept to help those in need. Often, a benevolence fund is used to aid families with unexpected or high medical expenses, victims of natural disasters. The unemployed, the under employed and other in similar circumstances.
First Sunday of each month goes to the church Benevolence Fund – please give generously to support these missions, thoughtfully chosen by the Minnewashta Diaconate Board. The Missions of the Month are in addition to General Fund donations. NOTE: When making a contribution to a Mission of the Month, please make checks payable to Minnewashta Church. We will send one check to the charity at the end of each month. Thank you.
